Epoxy Potting on Silicone Rubber

Facts of Dome Epoxy Resin

Two options: hard or soft epoxy

  • Soft Epoxy: is a clear, thermosetting resin to encase a (graphical) surface. Epoxy Potting process is taken place in a cleanroom of Class 100,000.
  • Hard Epoxy: is a clear, resin to encase a (graphical) surface and needs to be cured under UV chamber. Epoxy Potting process is taken place in a cleanroom of Class 100,000.

Dome-shaped Epoxy Potting is intended for perfectly horizontally flat surface. It is not intended for concave or indented surface – due to its capillary nature.

Stemming from its property of capillary action, corner of the treated surface (top-view) must have a radius angle instead of a acute angle.

Advantages

  • Optical clear.
  • High performance bonding and sealing.
  • Harden and can protect treated surface.
  • Excellent resistance to thermal shock.
  • Superior chemcial resistance.
  • Abrasion resistance.

Limitations

Generally speaking:

  • For Regular Shape:
    • Diameter or Width or Length: 2mm to 25mm
    • Height: about 1mm
  • For Relatively Irregular Shape:
    • Diameter or Width or Length: 2mm to 20mm
    • Height: about 1mm
